Surreal. That’s the word that I’d use to describe Muni’s closing. Witnessing everything that I, along with hundreds of other people, had worked and sacrificed so much for during the last 3 years disappear is surreal.

But not everything disappears. What remains is our legacy: the team, the learnings, the memories, and the friendships we built along the way.

I’m writing this for two reasons:

(1) As a tribute to everything that doesn’t disappear

(2) To contribute to the startup and tech ecosystem in Latin America by sharing our experience and learnings

And I write this with the hope that, while you read it, you remember that:

• Things are rarely black and white
• It’s possible to hold two seemingly opposing truths—for example, that entrepreneurship is admirable because it is so challenging, yet entrepreneurs still have plenty of room to do be better
• This is a subjective text based on my experience
• While some of my views may be open to interpretation—especially personal opinions that could be seen as controversial—I share this with the intention of being transparent and constructive. I’m open to evolving my perspective with time, experience, and new points of view.

As the inscription from my favorite place at Stanford says: “Dedicated to the things that haven’t happened yet, and the people who are about to dream them up.”
